mixed-flow pumps and axial flow pumps in evaporators

Mixed-flow pumps and axial flow pumps are often used in the forced circulation evaporator of salt solution

 

The difference between the two and the precautions for selection are explained as follows:

 

1. Difference between the two parameters:

 

A: Mixed-flow pumps are medium flow and low, medium and high head series (low head 2-5.4 meters, medium head 4-14 meters, high head 7-34 meters). The mixed-flow pump feeds horizontally and discharges vertically, and the mixed-flow pump has excellent cavitation resistance.

 

B: The axial flow pump is a series of large flow and low head (the head cannot exceed 4.5 meters). The axial flow pump feeds on the material and discharges the material horizontally, and the axial flow pump has almost no suction lift.

 

2: The difference between the two performances:

 

A: The mixed-flow pump low head series is suitable for the forced circulation evaporation device with low resistance evaporation device with low head requirements such as single heating chamber and low evaporation chamber (low evaporation chamber, less than 10 meters, low installation height of evaporation device), and the medium head series is suitable for new evaporators such as double heating chamber series or multi-program heating chamber and forced circulation evaporation device with high viscosity and high circulation resistance, and is also suitable for evaporation device with high viscosity material concentration. The mixed-flow pump can be applied to all kinds of low-resistance and high-resistance evaporation devices and evaporation devices with high medium viscosity and high cycle resistance because of its multi-choice head, and because it has a high suction lift and the ability to resist vacuum, it is applied to evaporation devices with small processing capacity, small circulation volume and low installation height (less than 10 meters). The high head series is generally only suitable for the transportation of large-flow materials and corrosive media containing certain particles, and is not suitable for evaporation devices under vacuum conditions.

B: The axial flow pump is only suitable for the forced circulation evaporation device of the low resistance evaporator with low head requirements for single heating chamber and the forced circulation evaporation device of the high evaporation chamber (the evaporation chamber is higher, more than 10 meters, and the installation height of the evaporation device is high). Because of its low head, the axial flow pump is not suitable for multi-program heating chamber and medium viscosity, large circulation resistance on the forced circulation evaporation device and reverse circulation evaporation device, and because it has almost no suction stroke, it does not have the ability to resist vacuum, and is not suitable for application in the evaporation device with small processing capacity, small circulation volume and low installation height (less than 10 meters). Axial flow pumps are suitable for evaporation plants with large processing capacity, large circulation capacity, high installation height (more than 10 meters) and low circulation resistance.

3: The difference between the two devices:

 

A: The mixed-flow pump has excellent anti-cavitation performance, has a certain suction stroke and has the ability to resist vacuum, and the installation height of the device can be reduced by at least 4-5 meters compared with the axial flow pump under high vacuum conditions, which can reduce the cost of the steel platform and concrete structure of the infrastructure, and can reduce the length of the connecting inlet and outlet pipes of the pump under the separation chamber and the heater to reduce the cost of the equipment, so that the overall cost of the device is low, and the convenience of installation and construction is also improved, and the importance of installation and construction is improved.

 

B: The axial flow pump has almost no suction stroke, and the installation height of the corresponding device is high, and the axial flow pump is more qualified for the device with large flow and large processing capacity because of its low manufacturing difficulty and less material than the mixed-flow pump.

 

4: Similarities between the two:

 

Stable shaft power characteristics, mixed-flow pump is more efficient than axial flow pump, axial flow pump lift is low, the final supporting power is not much different, and the energy saving difference is not large. The machine seals are all cartridge type, easy to install, long life, good reliability, pump body center support, good thermal neutralization, pump shaft coarse, good rigidity, three-disc bearing, bearing seat water cooling is sufficient, more stable operation, suitable for single pump continuous operation. The installation method can be multi-selected, direct motor connection, belt drive, spring base, hanging installation.
